MODULE DESCRIPTION

The aim of this module is to prepare you to lead group Action-Based Cognitive Remediation (ABCR) for psychosis.

You will learn:

  • The definition of Cognitive Remediation (CR), ABCR, their theoretical basis and scientific evidence of efficacy, mechanism of action, content and structure of intervention.
  • How to plan ABCR sessions, how to implement specific ABCR techniques (e.g. strategy teaching, drill and practice and real-world simulations)
  • Deal with obstacles and difficult therapeutic situations

Important: This training is intended to help you get started as an ABCR facilitator but does not replace extensive study of the ABCR manual. The ABCR manual additionally includes a detailed description of the ABCR modules and exercises.

You can download the ABCR manual (for in-person or remote delivery) in the module’s materials tab once enrolled in this certification.

This module is the third requirement in the Cognitive Remediation certification.
