Cognitive Health Module

MODULE DESCRIPTION
In this module, you will learn or refresh your understanding of important definitions, including that of cognitive health, cognitive capacity, cognitive deficits, and cognitive biases. These definitions are the basis to understand the cognitive health interventions for schizophrenia and related psychosis that are part of this certification.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Define cognitive health, capacity, deficits, biases
- Describe prevalence, presentation, levels, and the evolution of cognitive deficits and biases
- Describe functional and social impacts of cognitive deficits and biases in psychosis
- Identify impacts of cognitive deficits on implementers’ clinical work
- Situate existing evaluation and intervention tools of cognitive health in psychosis
PREREQUISITES
This module has no prerequisites.
CERTIFICATION
This module is the first requirement in the Action-Based Cognitive Remediation for Psychosis and the Metacognitive Training for Psychosis certifications.

- Knowledge on concepts related to cognitive health, capacity, deficits, and biases.
- Knowledge on prevalence, levels, and the evolution of cognitive deficits and biases in psychosis according to most recent research.
- Awareness of functional and social impacts of cognitive deficits and biases in psychosis, including impacts in the implementation of cognitive interventions.
- Familiarity with the most used evaluation and intervention tools for cognitive health in psychosis

This module requires a score of 80% or above in the final assessment for completion.
