Martin Lepage, Ph.D.

Content Expert, Instructor
Douglas Research Centre, McGill University

Dr. Martin Lepage is the James McGill Professor of Psychiatry at McGill University and holds a Research Chair from the Fonds de la Recherche du Québec – Santé on the cognitive neuroscience of psychosis. Martin holds several leadership positions at the Douglas Institute, including Deputy Scientific Director of the Douglas Research Centre and the coordinator of psychological services for the psychosis program.

His research activities are designed to have an immediate and direct impact on the well-being of clients with psychotic disorders.

He has developed and implemented a new infrastructure for psychological services for psychosis by establishing the Centre for Personalized Psychological Intervention for Psychosis (Ci3P). This clinic integrates all psychological resources for psychosis and embeds related researchers and students under the same roof. The Centre provides psychological interventions to outpatient and inpatient clinics associated with the Psychosis Program. CI3P provides services to more than 150 patients annually and offers individual and group intervention. Approximately 90% of service users also engage in research activities, including novel interventions and other types of clinical research.

Interventions currently being tested include cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) for social anxiety adapted for people with psychosis, CBT for engulfment, and cognitive remediation therapy for memory problems.

Dr. Lepage’s research is supported by CIHR, NSERC, FRQS, MEI and by the industry (Lundbeck, Otsuka, & Janssen).

He is one of the instructors for Action-Based Cognitive Remediation for Psychosis and Metacognitive Training for Psychosis certifications.
